If you’re looking at a guided group trip, we take into account the likely weather and try to walk to the conditions available as well as things like wildflower/ wildlife/ historical and environmental viewing. For inn-to-inn walking holidays, each trip has a section on the web page that tells you the best months to walk in that area.

For more specific information on the likely weather in each area, click on the following links. They will take you to the Bureau of Meteorology’s site and to a location that should be fairly typical of the walking destination. As some of walking destinations are remote and the weather can change from day to day so it’s important to check the forecast (even a few days ahead). Choose the month you are interested in going, put in last year’s date and it will come up with average maximum and minimum temperatures and rainfall information for that place last year. You can also click on “Monthly conditions” and it will give you a year’s worth of data.

At Illawarra Walks we strongly believe in the value of travel insurance. We recommend that you have adequate insurance against potential losses, damage or injury, including cancellation costs and loss of luggage. In view of the heavy cancellation penalties applied to cancelled reservations in certain circumstances, we strongly recommend suitable travel insurance be purchased at the time the holding deposit is paid. We recommend insurance cover that covers any loss which may be suffered due to cancellation.
*Note that Illawarra Walks charges a cancellation fee*
